It is essential that managers and leaders plan their teams work to achieve the overall objectives of your organisation. Its also important that your workforce feels empowered, and your leaders have the skills to delegate.

This live and online three-hour session will equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to better organise, empower and delegate their team to achieve better results.

This course is well suited to any councillor or officer who wants to improve their organizing and delegating skills. This is an introductory level course suitable for staff with no previous training in this area.

Learning Objectives (success criteria)

By the end of the course delegates will be able to explain the importance of planning the team’s work to achieve objectives Delegates will be able to use techniques for deciding the most appropriate individual to undertake an activity.

Delegates will be able to describe the benefits of empowerment for individuals and organisations and explain the difference between authority, responsibility and accountability when delegating to others.

Finally, delegates will be able to Identify common barriers to delegation and delegate tasks effectively using a model.
