10x 3 hour LIVE, Online course (via Zoom or MS Teams) with a professional trainer and a maximum group size of 16 people.
New Manager Training
Overview
Taking the step into leading and managing a team can be extremely daunting and new managers need help and support. This live and in depth course is split over ten consecutive weeks (3 hours a week online for ten consecutive weeks), and covers the essential skills new managers need. We also include a 12 week option to cover change management.
We have found it is really effective to give new managers bite sized chunks of information (3 hours, once a week for ten consecutive weeks). This gives participants time and space to review, consider, contemplate and implement their learning. Each week we ask participants to talk about what they have implemented over the last seven days. Its by holding participants to account in this way we know delegates are implementing their learning and new skills and the course is having a transformational effect.
Please note, we often find that that at the end of the 10 week course, managers are keen, enthusiastic, confident and motivated to implement the new skills they have learned. However, when they try and implement change, they are often met with resistance from colleagues. For this reason we recommend adding two sessions of change management onto the end of the course. This will also give new managers the confidence and knowledge they need to tackle resistance to change and implement fully their learning and development.
Who should attend?
This course is well suited for any officer or employee who is or is about to start managing a team.
As this is an in-depth course, existing managers who want to improve would also find this training course hugely beneficial.
